The Ka-band Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radiometer for High Spatial Resolution
نویسندگان
چکیده
The Ka-band interferometric radiometer is developed as a demonstration model of 2-D interferometric radiometer to evaluate sub-Y-type array which was proposed by the research group SSL at K-JIST. This new antenna configuration is proposed for high spatial resolution imaging radiometer and it shows better performance than conventional Y-type array. The implemented radiometer is developed at 37 GHz and it shows good amplitude and phase correlation. The experimental results of interferometric measurements are described in detail.

Correction to "A Two-Dimensional Doppler Radiometer for Earth Observation"
Compared to synthetic aperture radars (SARs), the angular resolution of microwave radiometers is quite poor. Traditionally, it has been limited by the physical size of the antenna. However, the angular resolution can be improved by means of aperture synthesis interferometric techniques. A narrow beam is synthesized during the image formation processing of the cross-correlations measured at zero...
متن کاملEvaluation of Imaging Performance for Sub-Y-type Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radiometer
The two-dimensional interferometric synthetic aperture radiometer measures the brightness temperature distribution using two-dimensional antenna array without scanning. It has been reported that Y-type array configuration with equally spaced antennas is optimal in terms of a narrow 3dB beamwidth and wide synthesized field-of-view (FOV). The sub-Y-type array was suggested to improve the spatial ...
متن کاملAnalysis and Correction of the Inter-channel Mismatch in Synthetic Aperture Radiometer
A Ka-band two dimensional synthetic aperture interferometric radiometer (SAIR) called SAIR-2D has been developed for concealed weapon detection. The inter-channel mismatch due to amplitude, phase and group delay differences between each receiving channel pairs can result in an undesired effect called fringe washing function (FWF). As the security application usually needs a wide field of view, ...

The interferometric synthetic aperture radiometer (InSARad) is a microwave imaging instrument with the large field of view and high spatial resolution by synthetic aperture technique. However, its performance is limited to the decorrelation effects. A space variant degradation image restoration method based on coordinate transform to alleviate the decorrelation effects is presented, and its val...
متن کاملSynthetic aperture radiometry evaluated by a two-channel demonstration model
The Technical University of Denmark (TUD) Synthetic Aperture Radiometer (SARad) is a two-channel demonstration model that can simulate a two-dimensional (2-D) thinned array radiometer having an unfilled aperture populated with several small antenna elements. Aperture synthesis obtained by interferometric measurements using the antenna elements in pairs, followed by an image reconstruction based...
